THIRUVANANTHA PURAM: Dubbed as the country’s first interactive online cartoon exhibition, ‘Varayum chiriyum’ by Kerala Kaumudi cartoonist T.K. Sujith at indulekha.com is a series of thought provoking and hilarious political caricatures that has appeared in the regional daily over the past couple of years.
The cartoons, a satire on the day-to-day political and social developments of the State complete with the engrossing in-party factionalism, power struggles and debates on developmental issues such as the Smart City project, have the former Chief Minister K. Karunakaran, his son and Nationalist Congress Party leader K. Muralidharan, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan and Communist Party of India(Marxist) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan as the lead players.
The online exhibition was inaugurated at the VJT Hall on Tuesday by Mr. Karunakaran who sketched a caricature of Bishop Joseph Mar Thomas of the Malankara Catholic Church, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
