Bini Roy

I know Bini Roy from the days she was studying at the College of Fine Arts, Trivandrum, where I was the professor of sculpture. Bini's art exhibited her inimitable and definitive style whether it was a painting or a drawing or even inlithograph.

All her paintings carry proof of the intensity of her works. I have rarely seen a student painting millimeter by millimeter of a canvas. Line by line, stroke by stroke, she creates the larger theme.

Bini won the Kerala state award for Painting from Lalitha Kala Akademi in 2003 for her work 'Three Widows.' Widely traveled and living outside Kerala all through last decade, Bini participated in several art exhibitions in India and abroad. While living in Phnom Penh, she has involved herself in activities promoting Cambodian artists. She is living in Trivandrum since 2002. Contact Bini Roy
