Fish Curry (thrissur style)
ingredients
1. fish pieces -500gm
2. onion sliced long-2
3. a small of ginger sliced long
4. green chillies spilt-3
5. curry leaves- 2 stalk
6. tomato chopped-1
7. tamarind(kudampuly)- 2 pieces
8. 1 cup thick milk extracted from 2 cup of grated coconut.
9. chilli powder - 2 tsp
10. coriander powder- 3 tsp
11. turmeric powder- half tsp
12. salt to taste
13. coconut oil- 2 dsp
method
Heat oil and add onion, ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and tomato(2,3,4,5,6) and saute. Then add chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. stir well. Add tamarind pieces and salt to it with 1 cup of water. Then add fish pieces and cook. When the fish becomes soft add coconut milk. Do not boil the curry after adding coconut milk.
For tempering
1. mustard- 1/2 tsp
2. 1/2 tsp small onions sliced
3. 2 tsp coconut oil
4. 1 stalk curry leaves
Heat oil and temper the above ingredients one by one and add to the curry.
