Ulli Chammanti ( onion chutney)
ingredients
1. small onion sliced- 250gms
2. ginger - 1 small piece
3. grated coconut - 100gms
4. oil - 1 tsp
5. chillypowder - 1 tsp
6. tamarind (valenpuli) to taste
7. curry Leaves
8. salt to taste
method
Heat oil in a pan. Once it is heated, put sliced onion into it. Fry it till it turns brown and then keep aside. Put grated coconut, ginger, curry leaves and fry till the coconut turns brown. Then add chilli powder to it and remove from fire. Grind all the ingredients.
Chammanthi can be used with rice or with dosai/iddly.
