Kadala Ularthiyathu

ingredients
1. bengal gram (kadala)- 1 cup
2. onion chopped- 1
3. small onion-7
garlic- 4 flakes
ginger- 1 small piece
4. chilly powder- 3 tsp
5. coconut grated- 1 tbs
6. salt to taste
7. curry leaves- 2 stalkes
method
Soak the bengal gram in water at least for 12 hours. Wash and drain. Cook the gram in 1 1/2 cup of water, onion and salt in a pressure cooker till it is done. If there is water reduce it by boiling until very little water is left.
Grind the ingredients of third item to a fine paste. Heat oil and saute the ground paste. Add chilly powder, grated coconut, curry leaves and saute. Add cooked gram , stir well and cook for five minutes over low fire.
