Padmarajan

When you start writing on P. Padmarajan, words cease to flow. Something else takes their place, which can not be described or depicted; some visuals, some feelings, some memories... Almost all the lovers of his works, films as well as stories and novels, must have experienced it. Nobody never wants to stop this flow of 'somethings', when they think of Padmarajan.
So we are refraining from writing anything on Padmarajan. Just remembering him; here comes another January 23. We lost him on 23rd January, 1991; one of the great losses in the history of Malayalam cinema.

That was the time. That was the feeling. The way he lorded over Malayalam movies is beyond imagination. Tinkalazcha Nalla Divasam, a movie which never got its due recognition, was one of his excellent works. And the script of Namukku Parkkan Munthirithoppukal was a delight. Even the stories have left their legacies. Years later, through Blessy, we have discovered a student from the Padmarajan school of thought. Though Blessy is a promising and budding talent, there is nothing like the master. Padmarajan is class apart. Even now when his movies come on TV, the ubiquitiuos remote control will be lying in the dustbin.
That is, or was, Padmarajan.
well done, its a great tribute to great artist. He is being missed by all malayalam film goers.
Hope daring experiments like Njan Gandarvan are taken again.
Padmarajan was one of the most versatile genuises Kerala has produced for the last 50 years.The saddest part is that he is the most under rated talents in the cinema and literary fields.The novel Prathimayum Rajakumariyum is the novel I have read a minimum of 25 times and still I read it.Each time I read newer meanings I derive from it.
His film like Ennale, Monnampakkam and namukku parakkan muntirithoppukal were excellent. In monnampakkom he shows us another face of sea. When we are watching that movie we can feel that he casted sea as a villan in that film. It was terrific. Like vilakudi said we feel that padmarajans touch in Blessy's film now.
If somebody asks me what is my favourite movie I will simply say namukkuparkan mundirithoppukal, really miss padmarajan very much ...a great loss for malayalam film industry...he has got that magical touch in writing....his language ,way of writing ,the feeling he created in our minds thrugh his writing is beyond comparable ,thoovanathumbikal ...the pain of clara and jayakrishnan is still in our mind ..............
A million people are born everyday..but a handfull of them become legends.on such is the name PADMARAJAN..Rest in Peace..You have given us enough and more in such a short span of time...generations to come will praise ur works..we are proud to be living in an time when legends like you lived
Padmarajan was a genius all his films had a specific freshness and uniqueness in its theme ,presentation etc.Most of his films wre coming of age
