Prem Nazir
പ്രേം നസീര്: മലയാള സിനിമയുടെ നിത്യഹരിത നായകന്. നായകനായി അഭിനയിച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തില് ലോക റെക്കോര്ഡ്. നൂറോളം നായികമാര്ക്കൊപ്പം അഭിനയിച്ച ലോകസിനിമയിലെ ഏകനായകന്! വിശേഷണങ്ങള് എത്ര വേണമെങ്കിലും ഇനിയും എഴുതാം.'ത്യാഗസീമ' എന്ന ചിത്രത്തില് സത്യനൊപ്പമാണ് നസീര് അരങ്ങേറ്റം കുറിക്കുന്നത്. പക്ഷേ, ആ ചിത്രം മുഴുവനായില്ല. പുറത്തു വന്ന ആദ്യസിനിമ 'മരുമകള്' ആണ്; അത് നസീറിനു വലിയ ഗുണം ചെയ്തില്ല. 1952-ലായിരുന്നു അത്.
ആ വര്ഷം തന്നെ പുറത്തു വന്ന 'വിശപ്പിന്റെ വിളി' അദ്ദേഹത്തെ താരമാക്കി. 'അബ്ദുള് ഖാദറി'നെ തിക്കുറിശ്ശി സുകുമാരന് നായര് 'പ്രേം നസീറാ'ക്കിയത് ഈ സിനിമയില് അഭിനയിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ്. ഹിറ്റുകളുടെ ഒരു പരമ്പര തന്നെ പിന്നീട് വന്നു. അവന് വരുന്നു, പാടാത്ത പൈങ്കിളി, അവകാശി തുടങ്ങിയവ ഉദാഹരണം.
ഇക്കാലത്ത്, നസീര് തമിഴിലും അഭിനയിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി. 'തൈ പിറന്താന് വഴി പിറക്കും' ആണ് ആദ്യചിത്രം. നിരവധി അവസരങ്ങള് പിന്നെയും വന്നു. മുപ്പതിലധികം തമിഴ് ചിത്രങ്ങളില് അദ്ദേഹം അഭിനയിച്ചു. നിരവധി ബഹുമതികള് പ്രേം നസീറിനെ തേടി എത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. സംസ്ഥാന സര്ക്കാരിന്റെ, അഭിനയത്തിനുള്ള പ്രത്യേക ബഹുമതികള് മുതല് പദ്മവിഭൂഷന് വരെ അക്കൂട്ടത്തിലുണ്ട്.
നസീറിന്റെ നായികയായി ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല് ചിത്രങ്ങളില് അഭിനയിച്ചത് ഷീലയാണ്; 107 ചിത്രങ്ങള്! ഇതും ലോകറെക്കോര്ഡാണ്. 'നിണമണിഞ്ഞ കാല്പാടുകളി'ലാണ് അവര് ആദ്യമായി ഒന്നിച്ചഭിനയിച്ചത്. നായികമാരില് രണ്ടാം സ്ഥാനത്ത് ജയഭാരതിയാണ്. 'ബല്ലാത്ത പഹയന്' എന്ന സിനിമയില് ഒന്നിച്ച് അഭിനയിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയ ഇവരുടെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ട് പ്രേക്ഷകര്ക്ക് പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടതായിരുന്നു. 67 സിനിമകളില് ഇവര് ഒന്നിച്ച് അഭിനയിച്ചു.
നിരൂപകരുടെ കൈയടി ഏറെയൊന്നും നേടാനായിട്ടില്ലെങ്കിലും, നസീര് പല ചിത്രങ്ങളിലും ശ്രദ്ധേയമായ അഭിനയം കാഴ്ച വച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അഗ്നിപുത്രി, ഇരുട്ടിന്റെ ആത്മാവ്, ആരോമലുണ്ണി തുടങ്ങിയവ അക്കൂട്ടത്തില് പെടുന്നു.

1929-ലാണ് നസീറിന്റെ ജനനം; ഡിസംബര് 26-ന്. 1951 മേയില് സിനിമാഭിനയം തുടങ്ങിയ അദ്ദേഹം മരിക്കുന്നതു വരെ ഈ രംഗത്ത് സജീവമായിരുന്നു. ധ്വനി, ലാല് അമേരിക്കയില്, കടത്തനാടന് അമ്പാടി തുടങ്ങിയവയാണു നസീറിന്റെ അവസാനചിത്രങ്ങള്. 1988 ജനുവറി പതിനാറിന് ആ മഹാനടന് അന്തരിച്ചു.

HE was never given his due in his time. When he acted in good comedies, the 'intelligenstia' and critics never valued it. NOw, when Lal or Dileep acts good comedy, it is appreciated. There is never another actor who can fit into such diverse roles. There is no substitute - PREM NAZIR is the only SUPER HERO of Malayalam screen.

Prem Nazir has left a void in Malayalam cinema. There is no match for him who have acted in more than 500 films, acted with same heroines 85 plus films (both Sheela and Jayabharathi). In this time of fight between various organisations in Malayalam Cinema, one has to remember graciously that Prem acted more than 50 films in certain years, most of them hits there by giving income prospects to so much of people not in film making but also people asscoiated with distribution, advertising agencies, film theatre staff etc. Another factor is that most of the old film songs of Vayalar-Devarajan-Yesudas combination was enacted by Prem Nazir only in films and it was very very difficult for the audience to differentiate the voice of Prem Nazir in films and that of yesudas in the tracks. No wonder people songs in films such as "Nadhi" are remembered even after so many years. There is no replacement possible for ever green hero Prem Nazir.
