The film is the story of a village with a difference- Perumalpuram. It has no hotels, no political parties, no flag poles, no slogans, no police stations, and no alcohol.
At the heart of the village is Devarmattom, and in the heart of the villagers is Devarmattom Narayanan, who is the ultimate deciding authority in the village and whose word is law.
The film has Mammootty in the lead role with Kannada actress Adithi Rao, playing Saavithri. Renjith who directs the film has also written the story. Azhakappan, handles the camera and Ranjan Abraham does the editing. The music is by Gireesh Puthencherry and Thej Manoj.
വളരെ പ്രത്യേകത നിറഞ്ഞ ഗ്രാമമാണ് പെരുമാള്പുരം. ഇവിടെ രാഷ്ടീയ പാര്ട്ടികളില്ല, ഹോട്ടലുകളില്ല, പോലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനില്ല. നാട്ടുകൂട്ടമാണ് കാര്യങ്ങള്ക്കു തീര്പ്പു കല്പിക്കുന്നത്. ഗ്രാമത്തിനു നായകനായി ദേവര്മഠം നാരായണനും. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വാക്കുകളാണ് പെരുമാള്പുരത്തിനു നിയമം. ഇതിനു സമീപമുള്ള ഗ്രാമമാണ് കാളിയാര്മഠം. തിന്മയുടെ പ്രതിരൂപമായ മൂപില് കുഞ്ഞമ്പു നായരുടെ ഭരണമാണ് അവിടെ. നാരായണന്റെ അമ്മാവന് കൂടിയായ കുഞ്ഞമ്പു നായര്ക്കും മക്കള്ക്കും ഒരു ലക്ഷ്യമേയുള്ളൂ. ദേവര്മഠത്തിന്റെ പതനം. ഈ രണ്ടു കുടുംബങ്ങള് തമ്മിലുള്ള ശത്രുതയുടെ കഥയാണ് പ്രജാപതി പറയുന്നത്.

prajapathy was a a disaster. its not the world cup football that resulted in its failure, lack of a good screenplay,rememberence to some other films...
Another flop for Ranjith. It s the repitition of old story.
