Jayaram and the new heroine Remya Nambeesan in Aanachantham directed by Jayaraj.

Aanachantham tells the story of Krishnaprasad, a young man who has a fascination for elephants. Jayaram plays the role of Krishnaprasad. Remya Nambeeshan does the role of Gauri.
Also in the cast are Saikumar, Jagathy Sreekumar, Jagadeesh, Innocent, Salim Kumar, Cochin Haneefa, KPAC Lalitha, Bindu Panicker, Prem Prakash and Kalabhavan Santhosh. Cinematography is done by Venugopal, editing by Vijayakumar and art-direction by Santhosh Raman.
ആനയും ആനപ്രേമിയും തമ്മിലുള്ള ബന്ധത്തിന്റെ കഥയാണ് ആനച്ചന്തം പറയുന്നത്‌. ഉത്സവത്തിനിടെ ഇടഞ്ഞ ആന പത്തു വയസുകാരനായ കൃഷ്‌ണപ്രസാദിനെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കാതെ വിട്ടു. അന്ന് ആരംഭിച്ചതാണ് അയാള്‍ക്ക് ആനകളോടുള്ള സ്‌നേഹം. മുതിര്‍ന്നതോടെ ആനക്കമ്പവും വളര്‍ന്നു. കേരളത്തിലെ ആനകളെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള എല്ലാ കാര്യങ്ങളും ഇയാള്‍ക്കറിയാം. എന്നാല്‍ ഈ കമ്പം കൃഷ്‌ണപ്രസാദിന്റെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തെയും തൊഴിലിനെവരെയും ബാധിച്ചതോടെ വീട്ടുകാര്‍ ഇടഞ്ഞു. തുടര്‍ന്നുള്ള പ്രശ്നങ്ങളാണ് ആനച്ചന്തത്തിന്റെ കഥ.
