Chakkaramuthu tells the story of Aravindan, a simple minded young man and his heart throb Anitha. The film, written and directed by Lohithadas, has Dileep playing the role of Aravindan. Anitha is done by Kavya Madhavan. Others in the cast include Sai Kumar, Harisree Asokan, Cochin Haneefa, Jishnu, Bindu Panikkar, Mahesh and Nawas. Rajarathnam cranks the camera. Songs by Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma are set to music by M Jayachandran.
WHAT'S IT
ബുദ്ധിവളര്ച്ച കുറഞ്ഞ അരവിന്ദന് എന്ന ചക്കരമുത്താണ് ഇതിലെ നായകന്. ഗൃഹനായകന് മരിച്ചു പോയ അയല്വീട്ടില് ഒരു സഹായിയായി കുഞ്ഞുന്നാളിലേ അരവിന്ദനുണ്ട്; അവിടുത്തെ അനിതയെന്ന പെണ്കുട്ടിയുടെ കൂട്ടുകാരനും. എന്നാല്, കോളജില് പഠിക്കുന്ന അനിതയ്ക്കു പ്രണയം മറ്റൊരാളോടായിരുന്നു. എങ്കിലും, അനിതയുടെ സന്തോഷത്തിനായി ജീവന് കളയാന് വരെ തയാറാണ് ചക്കരമുത്ത്.
PLUSES
തിയറ്ററില് ചിരി പടര്ത്തുന്ന ഹാസ്യസന്ദര്ഭങ്ങള് ഒട്ടേറെയുണ്ട്; ബന്ധങ്ങളുടെ ഊഷ്മളത പകരുന്ന ലോഹിതദാസ് ടച്ചുള്ള ചില മുഹൂര്ത്തങ്ങളും. ദിലീപില് നിന്ന് ‘ചക്കരമുത്തി’ന് വലിയ പരിക്കുകളില്ല. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പതിവ് ബഫൂണ് തമാശകള് നന്നായി അടക്കി നിര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
MINUSES
ഒട്ടും ആകര്ഷകമല്ലാത്ത ക്ലൈമാക്സ്. താനൊരു നല്ല സംവിധായകനല്ലെന്ന് ലോഹിതദാസ് ഒരിക്കല്ക്കൂടി തെളിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. പാട്ടും നൃത്തവുമെല്ലാം അധികപ്പറ്റായി അനുഭവപ്പെടും.
VERDICT
മോശമല്ലാത്ത സിനിമയാണ് കണ്ടു തുടങ്ങുന്നത്. അവസാനിക്കുന്നത് മോശമല്ലാത്ത നിരാശ സമ്മാനിക്കുന്ന സിനിമയും. അത്തരം ചിത്രങ്ങള് താല്പര്യമുള്ളവര്ക്ക് (!!) ഇതും കാണാവുന്നതാണ്.
